For the Love of Pink Blog Hop

We're so happy you could join us for this super-fun hop showcasing cards, layouts and projects that feature the Love of Pink !! You'll find an array of ideas throughout the hop -- We hope you'll enjoy each and every project along the way!!

If you've hopped over from Kenzie  then you are in the right place!! Keep alert for blog candy along the way as some hop stops will be offering some goodies

I made a Pink Folded Card to give to a coworker who is embarking on a new carreer.  I cut a piece of double sided patterned paper 4 1/2 x 11.  I scored it at 1 1/2, 3, 5 1/2 and 8.  Then folded it by starting with mountains and then valley and repeated the process.

On the first panel fold, I used some dotted ribbon and felt butterflies.  On the inside of the second fold, I used Pink cardstock(2 1/2 X 4)  added some sparkle hot pink ribbon, cut a square of hot pink stripe Paper(3X3), used a pink posey diecut I had lying around and fancied it up with some stickles..

For the last panel, I cut pink Cardstock again, then stamped "Tickled Pink" with small letter stamp in pink on white cardstock and rounded the corners.  I used a butterfly sticker and used stickles on it.

My project is a Fairy Card!   I used a digital image and colored it with my Copic Markers.  Then I went over the wings and hair with Martha Stewart Glitter Markers to give her pixie dust look.  I outlined the Daffodils with Yellow Martha Stewart Glitter Marker.   I cut out the Fairy in the Teacup and mounted it with pop darts on the some purple Glitter paper.  Then I added some yellow flowers and pink rhinestones.
For the inside I used the purple glitter paper, then some white cardstock paper for the area to write some sentiments.  I added some ribbon, yellow flower with pink rhinestone and a glitter wing!

The Hop is dedicated to the woman who have made an impact on our life.  For me, I have had 4 very important women who made a very important impact on my life.
My Great Grandmother, my Mother and My Grandma have all made a very big impact on my life.   I was four years old when my Great Grandmother passed away.  But I will never forget her.  She was so sweet and loving.   She use to have tea parties with me and play dolls with me.  She had several strokes and she never let it slow her down.  In fact she had her first stroke in her 40s when she was pregnant with her last child, and yet she kept going.   She had a very strong belief in God.

My grandma was the sweetest and most giving person I know.  She was my rock and my role model.   She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved to cook and dote on my grandpa and us grandkids.   I spent alot of time with my grandmother as my parents divorced when I was 2 and we went to live with my grandparents for the first few years after the divorce.  My grandma watched me while my Mom worked.  Even after we moved to a home of our own, my grandma still came over whenever I was sick and I spent the summers at my grandparents house.   She taught me such virtues as patience, forgiveness, humbleness, counting my blessings, and a strong belief in God.   Also a love for country music and Johnny Cash.   She loved to shop and we would often go shopping.  She encouraged me to go to college and follow my dreams.  On the day I left for college, she gave me a little pin that said "World's Best Lawyer"  because I wanted to be a lawyer.   When I came home from college on weekends, she would make popcorn as I studied and tell me that  I needed a snack.   She sent me care packages of  homemade cookies, scarves, mittens, and an afghan for my bed.   She babysat my little kitten Cuddles and taught her to cuddle with her on the couch while I worked.   She use to call me "Putzee"  (not sure of how to spell it)  My Grandmother passed away shortly before my College Graduation.   She fought Colon Cancer with dignity and grace.  I miss her so much!!!!

My Mom has always encouraged me to be independent and follow my dreams.  She encouraged me to go to college.   She was a single working mother, but she always spent weekends with me.     She taught me the importance of family closeness.   My Mother is bi-polar and at times, life was a bit dramatic, but I always know my Mom loves me.  She has a strong faith in God.  When we lost a baby, she was the first one to be there for me.  Without her, I don't know what I would have done.   She suffered a stroke a few years ago, and she had to learn to walk again with a walker as her left side is paralyzed.  But she hasn't let it stop her and she keeps on going. She inspires me to keep fighting my health problems.  If she can overcome a stroke, I certainly can overcome my health issues.

My Aunt/Godmother is my best friend.  She lived with my Mom and I since my parents divorced when I was 2.  She has always been there for me. She has been like a second mom and a sister all rolled into one.  I always tell her everythng.  And even though we are miles apart, I talk to her every day.  She is my role model.  She encouraged a love for travel in me, and also encouraged me to wait for Mr. Right and not settle with Mr. Wrong just to have someone.  She always encourage me to be independent and follow my dreams.   She is also responsible for my love of fashion-purses and shoes and clothes.  My grandmother, Marge and me would hop in the car and going shopping.  I loved those times!   We both also love to shop and scrapbook.   She gave me an awesome godson, Jon, who is like my kid!    This year, I got to spend a whole weekend with her at the Scrapbook Expo in Milwaukee, WI.  We had so much fun!!!!    She is always there for me and always encourages me.  In March, my 18 year old cat passed away., Marge reminded me about how Cuddles picked me and the story of our trip to adopt her.  She also reminded me that I would see Cuddles again one day in Heaven..   A couple of days ago, I adopted another kitten, Dixie.   And I forgot how demanding a kitten is, and I told Marge I didn't know if I could handle it now.   I also worried that Dixie wouldn't get use to me or want to sit with me. But she encouraged me and told me that I did a terrific job with Cuddles.  She also assured me that our 6 year old cat, Kit Kat would come around and love Dixie just like she did Cuddles.  Well, Kit Kat and Dixie are getting along and Dixie is hanging on me.   Once again, she was right.  So, I made two of the cards below for my Mom and My Godmother/Aunt.  I want them to know how important they are to me and how much I love them.  Without these wonderful women in my life, I would be lost.  I am so very blessed to have had four loving women in my life.

I made a gate fold card.  Using a Marci Girl with Kitten stamp, I stamped the image and colored it with my Copic Markers    Using my Creative Memories Oval Templates, I cut the Stamped image out and made two mats.   Then using my Cricut machine and Meow Cricut Cartridge, I cut two balls of yarn.   I cut some pattern paper for the front panels and added some ribbon as well as flowers.  Then I secured my matted image to the left panel.

For the inside of my card, I cut some white cardstock and Friend pattern paper.  Then I added some Pink Sheer ribbon and 2 flowers.  Now I just have to add my sentiment.

Now it's time to visit  Becka.  Thanks for stopping by.

Lisa's Design Team Cat Hop

Today our design team will be featuring the newest cats file. A bunch of ornery cats all looking to get into some kind of mischief. But, then what cats don’t, right?

The team was asked to use the cats to create a card, that was more than just the traditional half fold card. I think you wlll like what the team has come up with this week.

The file we used can be found here, (http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_44/Cats.htm)

I used two of the 5 cats in the files from Lisa.  Here are my little darlings for my card(Sabrina and Potsie). I used stickles on them and some googlie eyes.
I decided to make a popup card with them, well because Cats just love to hide and then pop out unexpectedly.

I used a 12x12 sheet Brown Bo Bunny dot paper. Made 9 scores starting at center and each was a half inch apart.  Glued the folds, and then proceeded to create my scene:
Using my cricut I cut the flowers, grass, yarn balls, mushrooms and the mouse.    I used Martha Stewart glitter pens on the flowers and mushrooms and glaze pens on the mouse's eye and nose.  I added some bling rhinestones to the daisy flowers.    I used some cat paper and sticker from Doodlebug for my sentiment.  This was my first pop up card.

When you close the card, Sabrina's head still peeks out with one of the flowers and Potsie's tail.  I tied a blue dotted ribbon to hold it shut until the recipient unties it.

Please take the time to visit each blog along the way are see what our creative design team has come up with this week.

I had summer bear.  So I decided to make a shadow box of our favorite summer weekend destination, Leelanau Pennisula in Michigan  We started going there for Labor Day weekend about two years ago, and it was so beautiful that we have made it an annual summer weekend vacation.  Last year, we finally ventured to Sleeping Bear Dunes, and well what better than Summer Bear to be on a theme about Sleeping Bear Dunes.  I had actually done a 2 page layout and we were suppose to think outside the box to create projects other than layouts and cards.  But I forgot and put together this layout.

I used my cricut to cut out the title, a bottle of wine(his favorite-Lenlanau Cellars Great Lakes Red) for Bart Beach Bear(He is one fussy and thirsty bear) and a beach bag with towels and suntan lotion plus to hold any deals she may find in nearby shops in the town for Lola Beach Bear as well as the Hawaiian Flowers.   I had some wave paper that I cut and tore two different brown papers to simulate sand.  My bears were hand cut, and I improvised and made Bart Beach Bear a tank tshirt.  Of course I used brown and black stickles on the edges of my bears.  Glaze black pen for their claws, crystal lacquer on their sunglasses lenses.  Then I outlined their clothes with Martha Stewart's glitter pens.  I added a couple of flowers to Lola Beach Bear.  Also I cut the Sunglasses out for each from glitter or shiny paper.   My Mats are Brown, Blue and Pink Handmade Paper. Since I was suppose to think out of the box and I didn't, BAD ME!!!(Actually it is a sign of my old age and brain forgetting.....) I tried to think how I could still do something but keep the layout.(And those Beach Bears just wouldn't leave the beach and it cost me another bottle of wine for Bart Beach Babe.  So I went with shadow Box, I only had one shadow box so I put Lola Beach Bear page in the shadow box and will be getting one for Bart Beach Bear's page.   This is going to be a gift for my husband .

Well, Bart, Lola and I would like to thank you for dropping in and recommend you pop over to Lisa.   (Hurry before Bart starts singing "Tiny Bubbles")
Be sure to stop and remark at each stop along the way along with the Design Team Page, http://scrappingwithlisadesignsdt.blogspot.com/, and become a follower!!!!! Lisa is offering your choice of which Weather Bear you would like to two lucky people who have remarked and became a follower.

Thanks again for stopping and remember to stop again the following Monday for Team Queenie's project featuring the Lion - sure to be a "roaring" good hop!!!!

Butterfly Hop for Scrapping with Lisa Designs

Team Princess is up this week with a cute butterfly card.  This butterfly is made from the Strawberry Shortcake file and can be found under vintage TV shows or by following this link, http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_14/Strawberry-Shortcake.htm

The key to this week’s project was to create a card with this butterfly, however, the card must have dimensions included.

I made my own card from Purple Cardstock  (5 1/2 x 5).  Then cut 4 1/2 x 5 patterned Butterfly paper and put it down on the front of the card.  I inked every with purple ink.  I created a phrase on my computer(Corsiva 16) and printed it out then inked.   I hand cut out my butterfly and use pop dots to pop her up.   Of course, I used some stickles on her.   I added some pink brads to the corners of the butterfly paper mat.  Then I added my phrase and again pop dotted my butterfly. I added some purple dotted ribbon.

For the inside, I printed out the rest of my greeting phrase and matted it on the butterfly pattern paper.  Again, I inked everything.  Added a little ribbon.

Please take time to visit all of team princess projects this week by going to each blog listed below.  each have their own take on the project.

Butterflies are Free Blog Hop

Have you ever watched a butterfly just casually meandering and fluttering by - it look so peaceful, tranquil and free! They get to land where they want, smell all the flowers and just let the world pass them by. The colors of the butterfly are magnificent with seeming to be no two alike!!!!

Today, we are going to be fluttering with our butterflies and takin you on journies whether it be sniffing the flowers, watching the world pass us by or just showing off our magnicient colors!!! A nice lazy day, so, let get fluttering.....

If you stopped by to visit me today, I really appreciate it but would love for you to see all the butterflies in our hop. The butterfly journey starts with Lynne at Her Craftiness . If you fluttered here by Michelle then you are on the right mark to sniff the flowers.

We have a wonderful sponsor today for our Butterflies Are Free - Susan Bermudez, Creative Memories representative.

I am so very happy to be able to sponsor Miss Lynne's Butterflies are Free Blog Hop. I am offering $10 worth of product from Creative Memories. You can pick what you like from my website: http://www.mycmsite.com/sites/susanbermudez. Good luck and Happy Scrappin'.

To be eligible, just leave a remark on each stop along the way and if you aren't already a follower, would love for you to follow also!!!

My project foryou today is  a card for my best friend.  In April, my best friend, Marge(also my godmother and Aunt) went to the Scrapbook Expo in West Allis, Michigan.  We spent the morning taking classes, the afternoon shopping and cropping until midnight at the Scrapbook Expo.  During the crop, there were several make and takes by the vendors.  One vendor, Krazy Kreations showed us how to make our own glitter paper, then put a sticker on it and color it with our copic markers.  So, I decided to make a butterfly card to send to my best friend and thank her for a great weekend.
I started by making a basic card 4 1/2 x 5 card from pink cardstock.  I added some pink polka dotted pattern paper and dark purple cardstock.  Then, using the sticky paper and glitter from Krazy Kreations, I made my own glitter paper.  I added my black outline butterfly stickers onto the glitter paper.  I colored the inside of the butterflies with pink and purple copic markers.  Note:  A special glitter must be used so it doesn't damage your copic markers!   I used a $1.00 stamp set  from Michaels to stamp a sentiment and matted it with butterfly paper for the inside.   I used a large butterfly embellishment on the outside and inside as well as some purple dotted ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my butterflies and thank you for not catching me and letting me fly around free. I would love for you to stop and visit Anita to see what kind of butterfly enchantment that has been created for you to see next.

Lisa's Designs Design Team

Let Your Artistic Nature Fly

Welcome to the Team Princess bi-weekly blog hop for Scrapping With Lisa’s Designs.  This week Team Princess is working on the Blue Bird from the Birds Pattern set. However, there are a few challenges that go along with the bluebird.  We were not allowed to create the bird in blue, nor were we allowed to create a card or a layout.  We hope this shows the real versatility in Lisa’s patterns.

One really nice thing about PaperPiecing with Lisa’s patterns is you can cut them out with a machine, or you cancut them out by hand.  She also providesa digital image of each as well.

Our blog hop starts here,  http://scrappingwithlisadesignsdt.blogspot.com/, so please start from the beginning and spread your wings to fly from one blogto the next and check out the wonderful designs by team princess.

You will find the Bird patterhere, (http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_17/Birds.htm)

I made a centerpiece for my mom to go with the pot of flowers with the bluebird I made for the Scrapping with Lisa's Hop last week.   I hand cut my pieces for my bird on a yellow bling cardstock.   I pieced her together and used honeycomb tissue on her tummy to give her a dimensional look.  And of course, I had to use stickles around her to give her a little bling.  I got a little nest and glued it on a stick.  Added some grass and eggs of course, then put some flowers and a little ribbon around the nest.

Thank you for stopping by today and please remember to visit my Design team sisters blogs.  We all look forward to your comments, as this is how we all improve our work.

Here are the links to my sister’s blogs.

Tuesday Freebie from Scrapping with Lisa's Designs

Scrapping with Lisa's Designs offers a free pattern every week.  The Kangaroo was the free pattern this week.  You can get your own at http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/category_17/Freebies.htm.  With my Kangaroo Pattern, I made a frame for mother's day for my mom.

I took a wooden frame from Michaels and trace the shape onto some pattern paper then I cut out the shape.  I used ModPodge to decoupage the paper to the frame and let it dry.  After it was dry, I painted the edges with fuchusia paint.  I hand cut out the Kangaroo pattern.  I made two infact.  One bigger and one smaller( A Mom and a Little Girl) I pieced the Kangaroo togethers and added a little pink bow to each of them.  I also used brown and black stickles on the edges to give them that extra bling.  The Momma Kangaroo is cut on a corkboard scrapbooking paper I got from Michaels.  The Little Girl Kangaroo is cut a lighter brown.   I used some foam tape to attach them to the frame and pop them up a little.  I added some flowers and ribbon.  Then I took the clear title and put it on pink cardstock then cut around the title.  Added the title to the frame.  I traced the cardboard mat heart with Pink Shiny paper, cut it out and glued the shiny pink heart on to the cardboard heart so I had a pretty mat.  Remember to pop over to Scrapping with Lisa's Designs and check out all of her fun patterns.   Check back on Monday to see our Design Team Projects we have created with Scrapping with Lisa's Designs.

My project is a pot full of flowers including a Bird(also by Lisa).   I painted each of the pots and stenciled flowers on them.   Put a stryofoam ball in each pot and a little grasss.  Cut each of the flowers out and put them on painted green dowels then stuck them into the stryofoam balls.  I made a main centerpiece and a little side one.   After looking at my arrangement, I decided to add some stickles to bling it up a little.

I am giving away a little blog candy to one lucky person..   If you are interested in winning the little pot with the Violet, then simply leave a comment.  I will pick one lucky winner on Wednesday.
