I had summer bear.  So I decided to make a shadow box of our favorite summer weekend destination, Leelanau Pennisula in Michigan  We started going there for Labor Day weekend about two years ago, and it was so beautiful that we have made it an annual summer weekend vacation.  Last year, we finally ventured to Sleeping Bear Dunes, and well what better than Summer Bear to be on a theme about Sleeping Bear Dunes.  I had actually done a 2 page layout and we were suppose to think outside the box to create projects other than layouts and cards.  But I forgot and put together this layout.

I used my cricut to cut out the title, a bottle of wine(his favorite-Lenlanau Cellars Great Lakes Red) for Bart Beach Bear(He is one fussy and thirsty bear) and a beach bag with towels and suntan lotion plus to hold any deals she may find in nearby shops in the town for Lola Beach Bear as well as the Hawaiian Flowers.   I had some wave paper that I cut and tore two different brown papers to simulate sand.  My bears were hand cut, and I improvised and made Bart Beach Bear a tank tshirt.  Of course I used brown and black stickles on the edges of my bears.  Glaze black pen for their claws, crystal lacquer on their sunglasses lenses.  Then I outlined their clothes with Martha Stewart's glitter pens.  I added a couple of flowers to Lola Beach Bear.  Also I cut the Sunglasses out for each from glitter or shiny paper.   My Mats are Brown, Blue and Pink Handmade Paper. Since I was suppose to think out of the box and I didn't, BAD ME!!!(Actually it is a sign of my old age and brain forgetting.....) I tried to think how I could still do something but keep the layout.(And those Beach Bears just wouldn't leave the beach and it cost me another bottle of wine for Bart Beach Babe.  So I went with shadow Box, I only had one shadow box so I put Lola Beach Bear page in the shadow box and will be getting one for Bart Beach Bear's page.   This is going to be a gift for my husband .

Well, Bart, Lola and I would like to thank you for dropping in and recommend you pop over to Lisa.   (Hurry before Bart starts singing "Tiny Bubbles")

Butterfly Hop for Scrapping with Lisa Designs

Team Princess is up this week with a cute butterfly card.  This butterfly is made from the Strawberry Shortcake file and can be found under vintage TV shows or by following this link, http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_14/Strawberry-Shortcake.htm

The key to this week’s project was to create a card with this butterfly, however, the card must have dimensions included.

I made my own card from Purple Cardstock  (5 1/2 x 5).  Then cut 4 1/2 x 5 patterned Butterfly paper and put it down on the front of the card.  I inked every with purple ink.  I created a phrase on my computer(Corsiva 16) and printed it out then inked.   I hand cut out my butterfly and use pop dots to pop her up.   Of course, I used some stickles on her.   I added some pink brads to the corners of the butterfly paper mat.  Then I added my phrase and again pop dotted my butterfly. I added some purple dotted ribbon.

For the inside, I printed out the rest of my greeting phrase and matted it on the butterfly pattern paper.  Again, I inked everything.  Added a little ribbon.

Please take time to visit all of team princess projects this week by going to each blog listed below.  each have their own take on the project.

Butterflies are Free Blog Hop

Have you ever watched a butterfly just casually meandering and fluttering by - it look so peaceful, tranquil and free! They get to land where they want, smell all the flowers and just let the world pass them by. The colors of the butterfly are magnificent with seeming to be no two alike!!!!

Today, we are going to be fluttering with our butterflies and takin you on journies whether it be sniffing the flowers, watching the world pass us by or just showing off our magnicient colors!!! A nice lazy day, so, let get fluttering.....

If you stopped by to visit me today, I really appreciate it but would love for you to see all the butterflies in our hop. The butterfly journey starts with Lynne at Her Craftiness . If you fluttered here by Michelle then you are on the right mark to sniff the flowers.

We have a wonderful sponsor today for our Butterflies Are Free - Susan Bermudez, Creative Memories representative.

I am so very happy to be able to sponsor Miss Lynne's Butterflies are Free Blog Hop. I am offering $10 worth of product from Creative Memories. You can pick what you like from my website: http://www.mycmsite.com/sites/susanbermudez. Good luck and Happy Scrappin'.

To be eligible, just leave a remark on each stop along the way and if you aren't already a follower, would love for you to follow also!!!

My project foryou today is  a card for my best friend.  In April, my best friend, Marge(also my godmother and Aunt) went to the Scrapbook Expo in West Allis, Michigan.  We spent the morning taking classes, the afternoon shopping and cropping until midnight at the Scrapbook Expo.  During the crop, there were several make and takes by the vendors.  One vendor, Krazy Kreations showed us how to make our own glitter paper, then put a sticker on it and color it with our copic markers.  So, I decided to make a butterfly card to send to my best friend and thank her for a great weekend.
I started by making a basic card 4 1/2 x 5 card from pink cardstock.  I added some pink polka dotted pattern paper and dark purple cardstock.  Then, using the sticky paper and glitter from Krazy Kreations, I made my own glitter paper.  I added my black outline butterfly stickers onto the glitter paper.  I colored the inside of the butterflies with pink and purple copic markers.  Note:  A special glitter must be used so it doesn't damage your copic markers!   I used a $1.00 stamp set  from Michaels to stamp a sentiment and matted it with butterfly paper for the inside.   I used a large butterfly embellishment on the outside and inside as well as some purple dotted ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my butterflies and thank you for not catching me and letting me fly around free. I would love for you to stop and visit Anita to see what kind of butterfly enchantment that has been created for you to see next.

Lisa's Designs Design Team

Let Your Artistic Nature Fly

Welcome to the Team Princess bi-weekly blog hop for Scrapping With Lisa’s Designs.  This week Team Princess is working on the Blue Bird from the Birds Pattern set. However, there are a few challenges that go along with the bluebird.  We were not allowed to create the bird in blue, nor were we allowed to create a card or a layout.  We hope this shows the real versatility in Lisa’s patterns.

One really nice thing about PaperPiecing with Lisa’s patterns is you can cut them out with a machine, or you cancut them out by hand.  She also providesa digital image of each as well.

Our blog hop starts here,  http://scrappingwithlisadesignsdt.blogspot.com/, so please start from the beginning and spread your wings to fly from one blogto the next and check out the wonderful designs by team princess.

You will find the Bird patterhere, (http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_17/Birds.htm)

I made a centerpiece for my mom to go with the pot of flowers with the bluebird I made for the Scrapping with Lisa's Hop last week.   I hand cut my pieces for my bird on a yellow bling cardstock.   I pieced her together and used honeycomb tissue on her tummy to give her a dimensional look.  And of course, I had to use stickles around her to give her a little bling.  I got a little nest and glued it on a stick.  Added some grass and eggs of course, then put some flowers and a little ribbon around the nest.

Thank you for stopping by today and please remember to visit my Design team sisters blogs.  We all look forward to your comments, as this is how we all improve our work.

Tuesday Freebie from Scrapping with Lisa's Designs

Scrapping with Lisa's Designs offers a free pattern every week.  The Kangaroo was the free pattern this week.  You can get your own at http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/category_17/Freebies.htm.  With my Kangaroo Pattern, I made a frame for mother's day for my mom.

I took a wooden frame from Michaels and trace the shape onto some pattern paper then I cut out the shape.  I used ModPodge to decoupage the paper to the frame and let it dry.  After it was dry, I painted the edges with fuchusia paint.  I hand cut out the Kangaroo pattern.  I made two infact.  One bigger and one smaller( A Mom and a Little Girl) I pieced the Kangaroo togethers and added a little pink bow to each of them.  I also used brown and black stickles on the edges to give them that extra bling.  The Momma Kangaroo is cut on a corkboard scrapbooking paper I got from Michaels.  The Little Girl Kangaroo is cut a lighter brown.   I used some foam tape to attach them to the frame and pop them up a little.  I added some flowers and ribbon.  Then I took the clear title and put it on pink cardstock then cut around the title.  Added the title to the frame.  I traced the cardboard mat heart with Pink Shiny paper, cut it out and glued the shiny pink heart on to the cardboard heart so I had a pretty mat.  Remember to pop over to Scrapping with Lisa's Designs and check out all of her fun patterns.   Check back on Monday to see our Design Team Projects we have created with Scrapping with Lisa's Designs.
