Now unto my project...

I chose to make little candy baskets filled with candy goodies for an upcoming crop at a friend's home this week.  Unfortunately, the crop was cancelled so the good news is I have one of these little baskets to give away as blog candy.  You need to be a follower and leave a comment.

I started by using a plain white berry basket I purchased at Michaels

.   I decorated the outside rim with Pink Plaid washi tape from Joanns.

Then, I threaded hot pink sheer ribbon(Joanns) through the bottom slats and tied a bow at the front with the ends.

I also made a couple of treat coverings for a couple of the treats.  First, I made a quick little decorative candy bar box for the Nestle Crunch candy bar.

I cut the Purple Cardstock to 8.5 x 7.5.  Next, I scored the 7.5 side at 2, 2.5, 5 and 5.5.  I turned the cardstock to 8.5 side and scored at 6, 6.5.  I flipped it over so the other 8.5 side and lightly scored it at 6 to use as guide when I cut the diagnol cut at the top.  I folded at all of the score lines except the top 8.5 score line.  I cut the bottom 8.5 at 6.5 line.  At this point, I also cut a diagnol from the corner of left 8.5 top  6 lightly scored line, then repeated this same method on the right 8.5 top.  I assembled my box.  Beside putting adhesive on the bottom flaps, I put adhesive on the inside of the top overlapping flap.  Using blue cardstock, I cut a 3.5 x 7.5 strip.  I scored the strip at 2, 2.5, 5 and 5.5.    I used one of my Martha Stewart border punches on each edge of the blue stripe then folded along score lines.  I wrapped the blue strip around the purple box and adhere it at the overlap of the blue stripe edges.  Using rainbow stripe pattern paper, I cut a strip 2 1/4 x 7.5.  I scored the strip at  2, 2.5, 5 and 5.5.  Once again, I folded this strip along lines and wrapped it around blue strip on purple box then adhering at the overlap of the strip.

I cut a Pink Circle Scallop Tag-Cut at 2 in. using my Cricut  Explore(SVG file from Little Scraps of Heaven) and using George I cut a 1 1/2 in circle which I adhered to the Pink Circle.  Using my crop a dile, I punched a small hole in one of the scallops.   I wrapped purple ribbon around the Candy Bar box and ran it through the hole in the pink scallop tag.  I tied a knot and made a bow. Finally, I slipped a Nestle Crunch Bar into the purple candy bar box.

Next, I made a cute little box for the tic tacs. I cut 3x5 Hot Pink cardstock  and scored each side of the 5 inch side at 2 7/8.  I rounded all four corners with a corner rounder.  I cut a 2 3/4 x 1 7/8 white cardstock piece.  I rounded only the right two corners.  I cut 17 inches of hot pink ribbon and adhered it between the white cardstock and hot pink cardstock about an inch from the top.  One end of the ribbon is meant to wrap around the book and tie with the other end.  Using my CM circle cutter, I cut a 1in hole near bottom so the tic tacs will show through. I folded along the score lines and using glue dots I adhered the tic tacs to the inside back.  After folding cover shut, I tied the ribbon ends together to form a bow.  Using some pink daisy flowers, I pop dotted them onto the top of the front cover of the tic tac booklet  near the top of hot pink cardstock.  The petal hangs slightly over the hole but doesn't cover it so you can see the candies.  You can find a diagram at Stampin Up consultant Rochelle Wick's blog.

For the Butterfly smartie candy holder, I cut a layered butterfly with my Cricut Explore at 4.09 inches from Wall Décor & More.  Then, I ran the top layer(purple) through my Xyron machine and then adhered it to the bottom (pink) layer.  I folded their wings up, and used glue dots to attached the smartie roll to the butterfly body.I used Scrappy Cat Pink Glitter Glue in the pink areas of the butterly and I outlined the edge of the butterfly wings and antennas with Scrappy Cat Purple Glitter Glue.

Finally, I filled the basket with shredded pink paper and put a pink paper lace doily on top.  I proceeded to carefully place my decorative candy boxes in the berry box and also added some penny candy in pink purple and blue colors to the basket.  Well, thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment so you can win some blog candy.
Your Next SWEET stop is ANGELA.
Here is a list of the line up. Just in case if you get lost:
Come back to Haidee's Blog Monday July 21 to see IF you are the WINNER.
