12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop-Day 1





Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop Day 1. This hop will take place  November 24th through December 5th and the new postings each day will be posted by 8am eastern standard time. This hop will be full of wonderful ideas and inspiration to get you well on your way  of creating all of those beautiful Christmas project. Now onto my project for  Day One.  I have been seeing alot of mason jars with little figures or lights in them. So, I decided to make a mason jar with a figure and lights for my mother to put on her little shelf outside her door at Senior Apartment complex.   I purchased a smooth mason jar from Michaels, small string of christmas white led lights from Dollar Store, Santa figurine from Michaels, Buffalo Snow from Michaels, 1 sheet of Silver foil paper and some miscellanous christmas stickers.  First, I stuffed the led lights in the bottom of the jar, and I dropped the the battery pack into the jar also making sure the side with the switch was up.  Then I put a couple of glue dots on the Santa figurine and stuck him on top of the battery pack in the jar.  Next I cut 2-5 x 4 1/2 squares from silver foil paper and glue them back to back. 

 I decorate the one side with a tree, sentiment and small present stickers.  I curled the paper and stuck it in to the jar so the decorated side shown behind santa in the jar.  Next, I added my snow until it covered the light wires and battery pack.  I traced the jar lid onto some red white candy stripe paper and cut it out.  I stuck the candy stripe circle into the mason jar ring.  Next, I used glue dots to attach ribbon around the ring, and then attach the bow.  I also put a poinsettia flower on the top of the lid and an ornament embellishment/stick on the ribbon.  I tightened the lid onto the jar and my little scene for my mom was complete.


 

My second little project is a gift card holder for my godson.  I purchased the Santa Card Accents and the Slider box from Pinecone Express Designs.  I assembled the box and  cut out the accent backgrounds.  I glued them to the slider card.  I fussy cut out Santa and pop dotted him onto the top of the box.   I stapled ribbon on to each section which pulls out.  Now, all I have to do is attach the gift card to one end and sign the other end.

NATIONAL CAT DAY BLOG HOP

Now unto my project...
I made a layout o our older cat, Buescher.  She was originally named Kit Kat when we first got her.  But my husband renamed her "Buescher" because she is bushey.  He spells her name the way one of his favorite Nationwide drivers spell his name James Buescher.  She is a Himalayan, and she loves to be treated like a baby.  She is 9 years old and loves to cuddle.   She loves to mother the two younger cats.


We have 2 younger cats, Dixie and Lily.  Dixie is 3 years old and we got her a couple months after our cat Cuddles who was 18 years old passed away.  Dixie is the grey and white tiger stripe cat.  Dixie loves to play.  Lily is 1 year old and I rescued her from I 94 after a person threw her from a car when she was only 8 weeks old. Lily is a tortie/calico.  Lily and Dixie love to cuddle.   Here is a pic of Dixie and Lily snuggling together.   We call them our little twinsies as they are always together.

Now unto my  Doggie crafty project..My project is two two page layouts of my first puppy Bingo.  I was only 7 seven years old and he was my first dog.  He was a cute little brown beagle. We were the best of buddies and we loved to go on long walk in the woods by our house.

 I used paper from Reminisce My Little Buddy and pets paper pack I got at Jo-anns.  I used my cricut to cut a large heart and two small hearts.  I used my creative memories heart shape to cut the photos.   I used the Reminisce to match the paper and matted them. I also found some little dog stickers from Sandylion which I used on the second page layout.

The Lazy Days of Summer Blog Hop

As summer is starting to wine down and kids are getting ready to head back to school, we thought we would share some summer projects with you.

 For my summer projects, I made some layouts of some lazy days of Summer activities that are typical for our family.  My husband's family has a family reunion almost every year and what better for lazy days of summer than three layouts from one of the those summer family reunions. The three are simple and quick layouts.  The first two are using bo bunny paper in the same color scheme as the family paper. 


A family reunion wouldn't be complete without adorable and fun pictures of the youngest generation entertaining the others by playing and romping in the pool with squeals of delight.   I thought this paper was absolutely perfect for this layout of our great nieces playing in the pool.
For the last several summers, I always said I was going to get a small pool,couple adironack chairs then grab my mp3 player and relax by sitting in my chair with my feet in the pool with a strawberry margarita enjoying the lazy days of summer, but since I was working full time I usually didnt have time to do this,  But this summer I do have more time as I am only working part time and I purchased a pool and adironack chairs.  I have also decorated my yard in a beach theme.  So for the next few weeks of summer, I intend to spend several days relaxing by the pool in my chair. I made this cute little layout with Silhouette Cameo, which I intend to put pictures of my little summer yard paradise.  The flamingo I purchased from the Silhoutte store.  The umbrella, Starfish, Sea shell, beach sign and umbrella are from Miss Kate's Cuttables

After my husband and I got married, We incorporated our family traditions, but decided to create a few of own.  One of the traditions we initiated was doing a different  Christmas themed outing at Christmas like going to the Fox Theatre to see the Rockettes or the Wayne County Lightfest etc.

My first 2 page layout I did was for some of my pictures from our christmas outing to Crossroads Village.   The Paper is Doodlebug and the title was a SVG file from Miss Kate's cutables.  I used my Silhoutte Cameo and purchased the other svg files from the Silhouette Store for this layout.  I cut the tree and Santa's clothes from glitter paper.  

My second page layout will be for the pictures of our dog with reindeer ears.  I wasn't able to get the pictures printed from Walgreen in time for the hop!!! But I still wanted to share the layout with you. The svg files Ho Ho Holidays  are from Scrapping Bug Designs. The paper I used for this layout is from Hobby Lobby.

I absolutely love Christmas.  It is my favorite holiday of the year.  As a child, I remember my grandmother always making sure to get a new Christmas Wreath.  So, I try to carry on the tradition, by making a Christmas wreath every couple of years.  

For my project today,  I made a large Mesh Christmas wreath and a small mesh candle ring.   I used the 2-1/2in. mesh for both wreaths.  For the large wreath, I did 3 colors so I cut 9 strips of each color at 24 inches for a total of 27 strips.  I made loops and wired them with pipe cleaners.  First I started with 3 green loops and wired them to the wreath, then 3 white loops, next 3 red loops and repeated this pattern all the wreath. I added a snowflake bow, snowman floral stick as well as red sparkle poinsettias and some glitter christmas lightbulb picks.   

For  the small mesh candle ring,  I cut 5 strips of each color at 12 in. for a total of 15.  On this ring,  I started with one green loop, then one white loop and then one green loop all around the wreath.  I added little ribbon bows throughout the ring as well as little Christmas ornaments and poinsettias.  Now, I need to add is a candle in the middle.
